The Bangor Area Educational Foundation is always looking for individuals who would like to join our Board of Directors
The Foundation is committed to forming a diverse Board of Directors with varying backgrounds. Read the following and if you qualify, have any questions, or would like to join the board, please contact Executive Director, Deanna Ruzanski at [email protected]. Volunteers are welcome to serve on committees if full-time membership is not available to you.
Eligibility
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Other considerations (the lack of one or more of the following will not automatically exclude an individual from being considered):
Bangor Area School District graduate.
Bangor Area School District employee (past or present).
Bangor Area School District resident.
Bangor Area School District business owner or an owner who does business within the BASD.
Any other candidate may become a member at the discretion of the board.
Responsibilities
Attend regularly scheduled by-monthly meetings.
Be a member of at least one committee.
Have an understanding the board’s fiduciary responsibilities.
Have an understanding of the educational process within the Bangor Area School District.
Be able to communicate with other board members, school district staff, students and members of the community.
Actively promote and support the mission of the Foundation.
Pursue donors and take part in fundraising activities - Board members are also encouraged to donate.
Post Induction of New Members
Be assisted by a Foundation- assigned mentor for one year.
Become familiar with the Foundation’s history, by-laws and mission statement.
